An Open Letter to Racist Republicans & Confederacy-Loving Conservatives
Many Black Americans are conservative; why don’t they experience kinship in The Party?
The short of it is because some among us are vile traitorous POS, a significant part of the reason our country is so divided, and catering to you will be the reason lunatic Democrats remain in power.
To the bigoted among us, your incompetence is made clear by your inability to understand what’s at stake.
But let’s build up to the true costs of your stupid.
I’m undoubtedly Black. Southern. And a descendant of U.S. slaves (Freedmen) on maternal and paternal sides.
Mississippi born. Country raised. At least 7th generation American (documented to early 1800’s and still counting).
I’m a Republican.
Generally reasonable and aim to be fair.
And I’m sick of the racist trash on the Right and the Left.
Having said all that, I didn’t begin to think about racism as a present-day problem until I reached adulthood. Didn’t grow up thinking about white folks. Didn’t grow up hearing or believing negative ideas about Black folks. Mexicans. Italians. Not a single race/ethnicity. No teachings about…
