Negro means black in Spanish and in some Portuguese dialects, as I understand it.

It doesn't matter which language....Black means "dirty" and otherwise morally/behaviorally "dark" in white supremacist terms.

I'm sure you've read the English dictionary and/or watched that scene from Malcolm X. That truth undergirds the American Negro/Freedmen claim of ongoing injury. We are descendants of people who were made chattel slaves and those who were born free but were terrorized by the threat of being sold into chattel slavery. Our ancestors and we are marked as dirty and treated as morally/behaviorally dark and unworthy.

Everything can be, has been, and will be used in derisive tone against American Negroes. Negro is ALL over our legislative documents, executive orders, and judicial decision for multigenerational Black Americans.

The 40-50 million of us multigenerational Black Americans/Freedmen descendants are claiming ALL of our terms/monikers used about us in the United States of America...including affirmative action and set asides intended for us, specifically, and exclusively.

It's pragmatics not emotionality. We don't run from the injuries/insults/badges and incidents of slavery. And, acknowledged the evidence of those injuries that we aim to have repaired.
